Here in Southern California, warm weather is coming soon! I look forward to upcoming Just Drift events and ZipTied All Star Bash! Nowadays, All Star Bash style is all about big aero, super wide wheels, stretched tires, fat lips, etc… however, I wonder how many Speedhunters readers and grassroots drifting enthusiasts remember the days when it was a little more simple?

Up above, check out Stan Tran's RPS13, doing a little dirt drop action at the Willow Springs oval. This was from one of the early All Star Bashes, I believe it was in 2006. No huge aero, just a normal bodied RPS13, with some 18 inch Enkei wheels, doing dirt!

Although I really love big aggressive aero S13s, I still gotta give respect to the guys drifting with normal bodied cars, even with KA engines. I've found that a lot of the best S13 drivers became good by practicing aggressive driving with their normally aspirated KA engines, and only upgraded to SR20DETs once they were able to handle the additional power. Very cool. Let's go, ASB!
