It is in our nature as hobbyists or as obsessive compulsive gear heads to always look at the technical side of anything automotive related. When we look at Formula D, we almost always concentrate on the cars; their engines, their suspension setups or their visual aesthetics. But the main reason we love FD so much is because of its very human element.
And like in many other motorsports, Formula D is a human drama with cars as its set pieces.

We are engrossed in the moments of personal triumph. We saw Daijiro Yoshihara fall into a slump after his big crash last year in Seattle. Now, he walks away with two wins in the 2010 season. He's on a high and we're just as addicted.

When there are highs, there of course, are lows –moments of crushing disappointment. This is the face of a man who knows that he will not be able to step onto the stage to play his part in the round of 32.

Then of course, there are the unsung heros of FD. This is a face rarely seen but we have all seen to his work. This is Jose Martinez. He's the official Photographer of Formula D. One of the hardest working people out on track and also one of the most humble, entertaining and comical guys to spend time with in the media pits.
We love the cars that are involved, but the main reason that FD has garnered such a following is because of the people and stories that are a part of its year long drama.
I just can't wait to see what comes out of the rest of the season. Will Dai ride continue to ride the wave? Will Vaughn Gittin' Jr. become Mr. Consistant and sweep up all the rounds that are left in the year? Is there a wild card that will come from left field and shake up the championship?
Forget prime time serial dramas, I want more FD.
