One of the stories I had originally planned to do for Photography Month was to shoot a local Classic Car show with a circa 1950s FED-3 Rangefinder camera. With the camera loaded with Fuji ISO100 Colour Slide film I shot the entire roll and had my local lab run the roll through the regular C41 process, which cross processes the film and gives some strange colours on the final images. Unfortunately scanning the negatives was too time consuming so the full post probably won't ever materialise unless I can find a way to slow down time (I may need to borrow Rod's art pants for that)

Shooting film every now and then reminds me of just how easy we have it in todays digital world. The ability to instantly review an image is something we take for granted along with being able to shoot thousands of images in a day with no developing costs. The FED-3 has no lightmeter, no autofocus and no electronic assistance for the user. If you forget what ISO film you have in, you'll just have to hope and remember it ! With all this in mind, take a look at John Brook's fantastic post on the F1 photo archives of Sutton Motorsport. It definitely changed my approach to photography and I'd actively encourage you to seek out an old film camera at home and go snapping, you'll definitely learn from it.
