One of the many highlights at the E30 Motor Werks meet was not an E30, but a BMW Z4 M coupe which has a BMW art car inspired exterior. The car is owned and designed by Earl Shephard.

The stock inline-six is already a powerhouse from the factory floor, but Earl added an ESS CFR500 supercharger for even more power.

But all the power mods are overshadowed by the car's exterior. The car takes its notes from Andy Warhol's BMW M1 art car and has its exterior hand painted with acrylic.

Earl is a freelance artist and designer so having a car designed by him makes for a great portfolio piece. He spent more than 300 hours from start to finish painting the car!

The driver's side features a stylized view of California's highway 154 overlooking Santa Barbara…

…and the passenger side features Willow Springs International Raceway. Those of you that frequent the track will immediately recognize the building on the Budweiser corner.

Even the BMW M logo was painted on!

Some of you might not like what Earl did to the Z4 M coupe, so here's an excerpt from his website explaining just why this car exists:

"My desire for this project, as in all my automotive paintings, is to hopefully impart an interest to the art and automotive circles that they need not be mutually exclusive, which is too often the case."

It's been a while since I've come across a car this unique. It's very refreshing.
