With this view of an S2000 running flat out at Buttonwillow Raceway, let's move on to the second part of the my look at the Speed Ventures open track day held over the weekend.

As I mentioned in the first post, the M3 crowd was out in force. This white E36 was just another of the many track-tuned Bavarians.

This was one of two Corvette ZR1s putting their 638 horsepower to good use around the corners of Buttonwillow.

Some NA Miata love. There were at least 10 of them out there, in various stages of modification.

None were as crazy as this one of course. Yes the wing is enormous, but functional no doubt.

Despite being an extremely potent vehicle, you don't see many Lexus IS-Fs at the track. Good work to you sir.

This stock looking 911 was moving along nicely through the corners. What a beautiful body color.

There were some great cars on the track, but nothing could match the meaty '69 Camaro when it came to pure acoustics.

Although the screaming sound of this E92 M3's V8 was also high on the list…

I don't think it was running on the track, but this Honda CR-Z on PF01s caught my eye as I wandered around the pits.

A BMW 2002 with a Luftwaffe-esque flat green and black paintjob.

It's not everyday you see an Amuse-kitted S2000 in California. Nice to this one being used as it was intended.

Am I the only one that sees a little S30Z in the design of the Z4 M Coupe?

Here's the 240Z for comparison's sake.

What better way to get acquainted with your new car than with some track time? This Camaro SS was one of several purely stock cars out taking laps.

The same goes for this Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

Just so you didn't think that all of the day's Porsches had their engines in the rear.

Silver E46 M3 on RE30s. What a combo.

Everytime I see a cool S2000 at the track, I'm forced to confront the harsh reality that the car just doesn't fit my long American legs. Sad face.

Don't forget about the FF Hondas. This EF Civic looked rather quick.

That does it for part two. I'll be back to wrap it up tomorrow!
