Last year was exciting enough for the launch of new GT3 cars, with half a dozen of the latest Mercedes SLS and Ferrari 458s joining the grid in FIA GT3 alone; this year a massive 25 of the latest-spec McLarens will be spread across various international racing series. The MP4-12C is not going to be a difficult car to catch sight of on track, and that’s only a good thing. McLaren have just released this video from the recent FIA group test at the Paul Ricard High Technology Test Track in the south of France: their teams will be competing in the Blancpain Endurance Series, Word GT1, European GT3, VLN, British GT, ADAC GT, International GT Open… They’re everywhere!
10 MP4-12Cs will be at the opening Blancpain round at Monza in a couple of weeks time – over 50 cars are expected in total – and we’ll be there to cover them. I can’t wait.
