About once a month I head to my favorite bookstore in Tokyo, grab a coffee and flick through a big stack of car magazines from Japan and around the world. It’s something I really love doing, it’s a great way to see how all things car related are portrayed in different countries and publications. It’s usually the same mags that I check out, but in September last year I was surprised to find an all-new Japanese “mook”. Flicking through the pages of Motor Head I was literally blown away by the quality of photography and layout and I was hooked right then and there. What was also surprising was the sheer variety of cars and scenes covered, similar in a way to what we try to do here at Speedhunters. To see what I mean take a look at this video of the “Zero Yon” (1/4 mile) event that the Motor Head crew put together earlier on in the month for a massive feature that will appear on their next issue due out on June 30th!
I hope you like what you see, as I just happened to be there too. Stay tuned for more on Motor Head’s Zero Yon drag event soon!
