Welcome to 2014 everyone! With the holidays behind us now, it’s time to bring on the new year at full speed and the month of January is already shaping up to be a big one. Kicking off in a little over a week is the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and already we are getting glimpses at some of the new models and concepts that will be appearing. The first one is the Q50 Eau Rouge Concept from Infinti.
Based on the Q50 sedan, Infiniti has used its partnership with Red Bull Racing to develop this F1-inspired four-door. The car features a number of changes from the standard issue Q50 and Infiniti says the only things that haven’t changed are the roof and door panels. For example, the carbon fiber front spoiler and rear aero design have been inspired directly by Red Bull’s RB9 F1 machine. The roof panel is also made from carbon fiber, as are the side stills. Other changes include more aggressive suspension tuning, a high flow exhaust system and a set of forged 21″ alloy wheels.
I’ve always been a fan of a proper sport sedan, so I’m excited to hear the rest of the details when the car officially debuts in Detroit.
