This just doesn’t happen in Japan. People just don’t get the okay to close off roads here. But somehow, Ko-Hey Takada and his crew at Motorhead magazine did just that.
It wasn’t permission to close any old road either. They had the iconic Hakone Turnpike blocked off for an entire day so that an eclectic group of cars could be gathered up and unleashed at full pace on one of Japan’s most challenging stretches of winding mountain road. What followed was one of the most epic days of my life. Period.
I have a lot more to share with you from the Motorhead Hill Climb – as do Motorhead, who have a huge feature in their new issue (out tomorrow in Japan) – but for now I’ll let you enjoy the video that Luke Huxham directed on the day. Turn up your speakers, sit back and enjoy the epicness…
