A new month of Speedhunting is almost about to begin, but before March officially kicks off, it’s time to take a quick look at some of the videos we’ve been watching this week.
First up, we’ve got a new clip from the guys at Petrolicious…
A classic 1978 Porsche 930 Turbo and its Australian owner are the subjects of The Widow Maker – another great short film that’s beautifully shot and edited in typical Petrolicious style. There’s a sad story behind how Deryck Shakespeare came to be in possession of the boosted 911 – one of only 28 brought into Australia in 1978 – but it remains in the family, and looks set to stay that way for a very long time.
EKanooRacing have been making regular appearances in our video round-ups of late, but it’s for very good reason: they’re seemingly unstoppable in the world of sport compact drag racing. The latest feat? Resetting the GT-R (and all-wheel drive) record with a 7.26 @ 328km/h (204mph) blast down Bahrain International Circuit’s drag strip.
Next up, it’s the story of a man with a huge amount of passion for his dual-purpose street/track car. That car is one of the first JDM imports into the USA – an FD3S Mazda RX-7 that in its J-side life was modified by rotary tuning houses RE Amemiya and Stillway. Car Life: The Midnight 7 by Singular Entity is well worth a look.
Finally this week, we have a short clip from Ferrari featuring archival footage of the man behind the legendary Italian sports car brand. My Life, My Dream is one of a few similar videos uploaded by Ferrari, so make sure you check those out too if you like what you see here.
