A new week of Speedhunting is about to kick off, but before we get stuck in, it’s time to take a look at some of the videos we’ve been checking out over the past 7 days.
Let’s get things started with a raw action clip from Fullboost in Australia…
Friday night 1/8th mile grudge racing has become pretty popular in the US southern states, and recently Calder Park in Melbourne has got in on the act too. The most recent ‘King Of The Hill’ event took place on the Friday night just been, and as usual drew a diverse and interesting mix of fast Australian-built street and competition machinery.
Next up is a new short film from Petrolicious, and as expected with the Targa Florio-winning 718 RS 60 as the subject matter and former Porsche works driver Derek Bell behind the wheel, it’s an absolute cracker. To make this one even more special, the iconic Porsche race car wasn’t driven on any old roads for the video, but those of the actual Targa Florio course in Sicily, Italy.
We see some cool creations in our Speedhunting travels, and after watching this teaser clip, we might need to add Keith Northrup’s ’37 International ‘Trophy Rat’ to our future feature list. Rebuilding an old truck like this is one thing, but speccing it for desert racing and setting it up for aggressive (read: sideways) driving takes it to an all-new level of cool.
Finally this week we have another clip from the recent 2016 AutoCon LA event, this time from R1 Concepts. The 7-Minute Supercut is just that – seven minutes of highlights from one of the best SoCal tuner car show events on the calendar.
As always, if you’ve watched a cool clip online this week, don’t forget to share it in the comments section below!
