With a new week of Speedhunting ready to kick off, it’s time to take a quick look at some of our favorite videos from the past seven days.
Let’s kick things off with a nicely produced documentary from Daniel Hovdahl on the ‘The Norwegian Hammer’, aka Fredric Aasbø.
Drifting videos are everywhere these days, with everything from the highest echelon of the motorsport through to the grassroots covered off, usually with visually stunning results. It’s not all that often that a drifting-based documentary strips back the layers and intimately focuses on a driver and their life though, but that’s exactly what Stay Hungry does with one of our favorite Formula D stars.
Next up, it’s a brand new clip from Petrolicious titled Simple & Nice. With so much aftermarket support for performance and sports cars these days it’s easy to go overboard with modifications, but there are still those out there that prefer to take a more straightforward approach. German old Ford collector Thorsten Seitz is one of those people, and as you’ll see and hear in this lovely short film, there’s a lot to be said for his way of thinking.
If you could choose any car as your daily driver, what would it be? For Tokyo lawyer Go Hiramatsu, the McLaren P1 ticked all the right the boxes. In All in a Day’s Work - a new clip from the Britain-based supercar maker – you’ll see exactly why.
Finally this week we have the full onboard from Olly Clark’s winning run at the recent 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Behind the wheel of Gobstopper II - a 780hp Subaru Impreza time attack machine – Clark edged out Kenny Brack in a McLaren P1 LM to take the overall win with a 46.297-second blast up Lord March’s driveway, and this cockpit POV gives you a feel for just how fast that is.
