A new week of Speedhunting is about to kick off, but before that happens, it’s time to take a quick look at some of the videos we’ve been watching over the past seven days.
First up, it’s a new clip from the Donut Media crew…
It’s easy to see the appeal of Gridlife: team drifting; time attack; live music; a party atmosphere that lasts all weekend long. Larry checked out the Midwest event earlier in the year, and while we couldn’t make it along to the recent Gridlife South festival, Donut Media and Yaer Productions did, and this collaborative highlights clip – although short – provides a little taste of action.
The week before last, Paddy brought us a spotlight feature on an extremely angry Mazda RX-3 street car found during his recent trip to Australia for Fitted Friday. The RP Customs Savanna coupe packs a Curran Brothers Racing 26B peripheral-ported engine that sends more than 500hp to the rear wheels, and in this clip we’ve uncovered from the 2015 Brisbane Jamboree, you get to really hear it sing.
Given that the 124 Spider shares its underpinnings with the Mazda Roadster/Miata/MX-5, when Fiat said it would take the car rallying, the proposition sounded quite exciting. And what the Italian carmaker has come up with is pretty damn cool. The Fiat 124 Abarth R-GT had its first test recently, and as the video above shows, this turbocharged and sequentially-shifted rear-wheel drive machine looks fast and fun.
Finally this week, we have a new clip from 1320video that has it all: a 1500hp Supra good for 7-second passes, sideways action and a big save, smoke and fire – all caught from a POV angle.
That’s all for now, but as always, if you’ve watched a cool automotive-related video this week, don’t forget to share it with us in the comments section below.
