Another big week of Speedhunting is about to begin, but before we get stuck right into that it’s time to take a quick look at some of our favorite videos from the past seven days.
Let’s start with a short promotional film by Lamborghini for one of the most talked about performance cars on the planet right now…
If you’ve been keeping up to date with automotive news, you would have surely heard about the Huracán Performante and its mind-numbingly quick Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time, as captured via in-car video. The new Lambo was officially unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show last week, and included in the presentation was this rather stunning, cinematic-style clip.
Next up, it’s another onboard ride from Nissan at Fuji Speedway, this time with the historic Prince R380. With a GR-8 2.0L DOHC six-cylinder engine good for 200hp under the hood, the R380 was a formidable racer in the mid 1960s, claiming several land speed records and beating out three Porsche 906s for the win at the 1966 Japanese Grand Prix.
We don’t need to remind you of how much Aussies love burnouts, but in this new clip from Drag Videos Australia, a light is shined on an important aspect of the automotive art form in a competition setting. Because it’s not only about making smoke and fire – the entry to the burnout pad is just as important. And the ‘tip in’ is what this video from Powercruise 66 Sydney is all about.
Finally this week, it’s a race highlight clip from the recent Attack meet at Tsukuba Circuit. While this event has a time attack focus, the odd grid-start race is all part of the fun, and they’re pretty neat to watch.
