A day after the 2016 Formula Drift championship was decided at Irwindale Speedway, a very different drifting event played out in Apple Valley, California.
The Super D Matsuri, held at Grange Motor Circuit, brought together some of North America’s top grassroots-level drifters and few guests that included Japanese driver Naoki Nakamura from Team Burst/Pink Style. With a relaxed, low-key atmosphere, the day-long festival was enjoyed by drivers and spectators alike, and with tales of multi-car drift trains and door-to-door rubbing, it’s not hard to understand why.
If you missed out, don’t worry though; in this brand new short film, Keep Drifting Fun brings us a taste of the Super D Matsuri action – and it tastes like burnt rubber and dust.
Shot by Will Roegge and Brandon Kado, this four-minute clip is a must-see, and best served in 2160p 4K.
